This Privacy Policy describes how the Maple Bear Thailand mobile application ("App") handles information when you use our service.

The App is a communication platform that facilitates communication between teachers and parents at Maple Bear Thailand schools. Maple Bear Thailand is the data controller responsible for the personal data of its students, parents, and staff. The App is developed and operated by Saphan Solutions, acting as a data processor on behalf of Maple Bear Thailand.

2. Information Collection

The App processes the following types of information:

Account Information

  • Name and email address (provided by the school)
  • Password (encrypted)
  • Language preference

Communication Data

  • Messages between teachers and parents
  • Photos shared by teachers
  • Read receipts and timestamps

School Records

  • Attendance, check-in and pickup records
  • Allergy and health notes provided by parents or the school
  • Staff check-in times and location (for staff attendance, if used)
  • Invoices and payments (if the school uses billing)
  • Face recognition data used to suggest names when tagging photos, only if the school turns this on and parents agree

Technical Data

  • Device type and operating system
  • Push notification tokens
  • App usage data for functionality purposes

3. How Information Is Used

Information is processed to:

  • Enable communication between teachers and parents
  • Send push notifications for new messages
  • Provide the school with communication records
  • Keep the App running and fix problems

4. Data Storage and Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Photos, files and backups are encrypted at rest. Access is limited by role, and we implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal data. Data may be shared with:

  • Maple Bear Thailand (as the data controller)
  • Service providers for hosting, storage, email and notifications. Some are located outside the school's country (Germany, Asia-Pacific, United States), with safeguards as required by applicable law.

6. Children's Information

The App does not collect information directly from children. All student information is provided and managed by Maple Bear Thailand and accessed only by authorized parents/guardians and teachers. Parents/guardians maintain control over their child's information through the school.

7. Your Rights

As Maple Bear Thailand is the data controller, please contact the school directly for requests regarding:

  • Accessing your personal data
  • Correcting inaccurate data
  • Deleting your data
  • Data portability

8. Data Retention

Data is kept until the school deletes it, in line with the school's own retention policy. When a school stops using the App, its data is deleted within 30 days.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Users will be notified of any material changes through the App or via the school.
